What AZ-900 is actually testing
AZ-900 is a breadth exam, not a depth exam. Microsoft is testing whether you understand what Azure services do, which category they belong to, and how cloud delivery models shift responsibility between you and the provider. Most questions do not ask you to configure anything; they ask you to correctly place a service, a responsibility, or a pricing concept. The difficulty comes from Azure's service catalog: overlapping names, similar functions, and subtle distinctions between services that look interchangeable until you understand the category boundaries.
