Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) trap evaluation
5 trap types across 114 Fundamentals questions. Know which ones cost you points — and train until they don't.
Where AZ-900 candidates lose points
Service confusion drives many of the missed points on AZ-900, and Azure's naming conventions make this a genuine problem rather than a careless one. Azure Blob Storage, Azure Files, and Azure Disk Storage all handle storage; Azure Firewall, NSG, and Azure DDoS Protection all involve network protection. The exam regularly presents two services with overlapping function and asks you to pick the one that fits the scenario. Misreading shared responsibility is the second major source of errors: candidates who have not internalized the IaaS/PaaS/SaaS breakdown will assign OS patching or identity management to the wrong party depending on the delivery model. Pricing misconceptions make up much of the remaining gap, particularly around when Reserved Instances apply and how SLA percentages compound across dependent services.
