Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) pattern recognition
7 question patterns across 114 Fundamentals questions. Learn the structures — stop guessing, start recognizing.
The question structures that repeat on AZ-900
A large share of AZ-900 questions follow the same structure: a use case or requirement, followed by a choice between Azure services that partially overlap in function. The skill being tested is category precision, not configuration knowledge. A distinct second cluster involves resilience and availability: questions on availability zones, paired regions, and composite SLA calculation appear frequently enough that SLA math is worth understanding as its own topic. Cost optimization questions focus on pricing model selection, where the distinction between pay-as-you-go, Reserved Instances, and Spot VMs determines the correct answer. Governance questions around management groups, subscriptions, and RBAC scope appear in a smaller but consistent portion of the exam.
