AWS Data Engineer (DEA-C01) trap evaluation
4 trap types across 200 Data Engineer questions. Know which ones cost you points — and train until they don't.
Plausible service choices that fail the stated constraint
Kinesis Data Streams and Kinesis Data Firehose satisfy different delivery and processing requirements; selecting between them on familiarity rather than the described consumer count, replay need, and latency tolerance is a consistent source of errors. Glue versus EMR for transformation workloads maps to operational overhead versus processing control: the exam tests whether you identify which constraint determines the right choice. A separate trap is query pattern mismatch: Athena for ad hoc S3 queries versus Redshift for repeated structured queries is a decision the scenario resolves directly, and choosing based on service popularity rather than the stated access pattern is the failure mode the exam is designed to catch.
